Israel Life Science Industry – Powerhouse of Business Opportunities

Over the last decade, Israel has introduced a wealth of groundbreaking and valuable creativity and innovations in Life Science.

Growing steadily over the past decade, today there are over 1000 active life science companies with over 80 new companies starting up each year. Factors contributing to the success of this burgeoning industry include cooperation between academia and business, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a highly skilled workforce.

Israeli life science companies export their products around the world, with main markets in the United States and the EU. Some companies establish subsidiaries in the United States or other locations for marketing and sales; others for strategic alliances for marketing, distribution, manufacturing and service. The Life Science Industry export in 2009 reached 6 Billion USD, 8% less then 2008, with 71% of the sales done in the US 19% in Europe, and 5% in the Far-East.
